Art Deco Extravaganza
Visite en anglais du Palais de la Porte Dorée
Accompagnied by a lecturer, visitors are invited to discover the Palais de la Porte Dorée, from an historical and architectural perspective.
The Art Deco Palace dedicated to the immigrants that made French society
The Palais de la Porte Dorée is an exceptional Art Deco complex and listed historic monument, designed by the great talents of the period: Laprade, Ducos de la Haille, Janniot, Sube, Prouvé, Ruhlman.
Built for the International Colonial Exhibition of 1931, the Palace has housed an aquarium since its creation and in 2007, a museum devoted to the history of immigration in France. The guided tour offers a view of spaces usually closed to the public: from vestiges of the colonial exhibition to the most unexpected recent renovations by the architects Patrick Bouchain and Loïc Julienne.
