Files, online articles, portraits of migrants, this section tackles the history of immigration from several angles: theme-based approaches showing how historians write history, but also through individual stories.

Theme-based files on the history of immigration
The theme-based files will gradually build an online encyclopaedia of the history of immigration.  Entrusted to researchers and illustrated with archive documents or contemporary pictures, these files shed light on different aspects of the history of immigration in France. They have been grouped into four main categories: work, foreigners in French wars, migratory characteristics according to country of origin, integration and xenophobia, migration dynamics

Portraits: remarkable stories
The files are complemented by a series of multimedia portraits to read, listen to and watch. These portraits reflect the series of waves, both political and economic, that have forged the history of immigration since the 19th century. They were produced by Irène Berelowitch, Monica Fantini and Xavier Baudoin from the Atelier du Bruit
